Company Research Guide

This Bentley Library research guide was created to provide a starting point for researching companies.

SWOT Reports

SWOT Reports for most public companies and some large private companies are available in these library databases:

  • Search tip: SWOT Report Search
  1. Hover over [COMPANIES] in the navigation bar and click on [SWOT REPORTS]
  2. Browse or enter the company name in the "Search Within" search box.
  • Search tip: Company Profile Search
  1. Enter the company name or ticker symbol. A current company profile will be retrieved.
  2. Use the links on the left side of the screen to view related content and topics, including investment reports, SWOT reports, company chronologies, rankings, articles about the company/industry, etc.
  • Search tip: Find a SWOT analysis for a company
  1. Select the Investext tab
  2. Select [COMPANY] from the drop-down, enter the company name or ticker symbol, then click [add to criteria].
  3. Select [KEYWORD] from the drop-down, enter the word SWOT, then click [add to criteria].
  4. In the box that contains your search criteria, click [search]. In most cases, SWOT reports from GlobalData and MarketLine will be retrieved.

Other search options will allow you search by industry, country, region, report style, and date.

  • Search tip: MarketLine Company Profiles usually include a SWOT analysis. Company Profile Search: 
  1. Click on the [Company Profiles] link on the right side of the screen.
  2. Enter the company name in the search box and click [Browse].
  3. Locate your company in the list and click on [MarketLine Report]
  • Search tip: Search for a company, then on the profile page look for a link to SWOT. Reports are provided by GlobalData.
