Mathematics Research Guide: Mathematical Associations

This guide was created to provide a starting point for researching topics related to applied mathematics, pure mathematics, statistics, and analysis.

Associations

American Mathematical Society
Founded in 1888, the AMS provides its members with professional programs, surveys, employment services, and access to journals, the Mathematical Reviews database, and over 3,000 books in print. The AMS offers a low  rate for its student members.

American Statistical Association  The nation's leading professional association for statistics provides a list of useful websites related to statistics education, a career center, and information on ASA sponsored statistics workshops and meetings.

Mathematical Association of America
The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is the largest professional society that focuses on mathematics accessible at the undergraduate level. Our members include university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry. We welcome all who are interested in the mathematical sciences. MathSciNet is the database from MAA containing reviews of current mathematics books, providing online access to its periodicals, and with regularly published mathematics related columns. MathSciNet is a subscription database available to current Bentley students, faculty and staff.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
The SIAM, established to foster interaction between mathematics and other scientific and technological disciplines and communities, publishes selected proceedings from its annual conferences and meetings on its website.
