Transgender Research

The LGBTQ+ Steering Committee is comprised of staff, faculty, and students who provide support, programming, professional development, and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) and allied members of the Bentley University Community. Through ongoing initiatives, the committee works to educate the campus community in order to create a more inclusive and welcoming climate for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies.

We welcome, value and support students of all gender identities and sexualities. And we’re always learning how we can build a more inclusive, informed and compassionate community.

Gender and Sexuality Student Programs provides a welcoming and supportive environment for all students to engage with topics of gender and sexuality. We offer educational programs, dialogues, and campus-wide workshops to create a more inclusive, informed, and compassionate community.

PRIDE provides a safe and supportive place for the LGBTQ community in hopes of raising awareness and spreading knowledge concerning LGBTQ issues. The organization strives to create an acceptance and tolerance of all people and an open environment free of judgment and prejudice.

Our institutional values are rooted in a belief that appreciating diversity means that we work in an environment that embraces diversity of opinion and that is free from hostility and intolerance.

The Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) ensures students affected by bias or a bias-related incident have access to appropriate resources and assists the University in its response in situations that may impact the overall campus climate around diversity and inclusion.

The Safe Spaces for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and or questioning, intersex, asexual and/or allied (LGBTQIA+) program consists of community-based organizations currently working with LGBTQIA+ youth, to provide services that are trauma-informed, founded in Positive Youth Development, and are culturally appropriate and specific to LGBTQIA+ youth.

The Commission advises others in state government on effective policies, programs, and resources for LGBTQ youth.
