What is Scholars @ Bentley?

Scholars @ Bentley is a digital archive that collects and preserves the intellectual output of Bentley faculty and students. This service of the Bentley University Library provides open, worldwide access to these materials and promotes Bentley scholarship, teaching, and learning.

Why should I contribute to Scholars @ Bentley?

What are the benefits of submitting your work to Scholars @ Bentley?

  • Discovery: Add your research to the Digital Commons Network, a searchable online database of over two million scholarly works. Improve discoverability through search engine indexing, including Google Scholar. Track statistics about how often (and where) your work is downloaded and cited.
  • Access: Increase the visibility and transparency of your work. Satisfy open access requirements from funding and granting organizations. Obtain stable, shareable links to your scholarly work. Ensure the persistence of your research and data, making your work discoverable and useful to the global scholarly community.
  • Organization: Keep track of your scholarly output and projects in one location. Share articles, datasets, presentations, conference proceedings, digital humanities projects, audiovisual files, and more. Upload in a wide variety of formats and cohesively present projects that include multiple file types. 

What can I submit? How do I get started?

What types of work can I submit to Scholars @ Bentley?

Generally speaking, anything that is part of your scholarly output at Bentley is eligible to post in the repository. Published articles and book chapters are some of the most commonly found items in institutional repositories. However, that's only a fraction of what you can submit. Some other categories include: working papers, presentations, conference proceedings, datasets, artwork, streaming media, pre-prints and post-prints of articles, theses & dissertations, and more.

The Digital Commons Network

 

The works that you submit to Scholars @ Bentley become part of the Digital Commons Network, an open-access research repository. 

"The Digital Commons Network brings together free, full-text scholarly articles from hundreds of universities and colleges worldwide. Curated by university librarians and their supporting institutions, the Network includes a growing collection of peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, working papers, conference proceedings, and other original scholarly work."

Inclusion in the Digital Commons Network may result in increased downloads and citations of your work. It also allows you to easily contribute your expertise and research to the global scholarly community without paywalls.
