FDS100: Falcon Discovery Seminar (Barber)

This research guide has been created as a supplement specifically for students in Professor Barber's sections of FDS100: Falcon Discovery Seminar.

Welcome!

This research guide has been created to help students taking FDS100: Falcon Discovery Seminar with Professor Veronica Barber.

Whose responsibility is it?

Income and wealth inequality continues to grow in the United States. In this course, we'll examine the growing gap between the rich and the poor, looking through the lens of social inequality, executive compensation, and corporate social responsibility. We'll consider whether a living wage should be pursued and by whom. Additionally, we'll explore the impact a living wage can have on employees, organizations, communities, and society at large.

This guide has been designed to help you with conducting research for the assignments in this class.

  • Wealth, Income, Living Wages, & Social Equality discusses how to begin researching topics you may be exploring this semester, including suggested search terms and resource recommendations.
  • Finding Books, Articles, & More will help you learn how to search the Bentley Library resources.
  • Finding Laws & Regulations offers suggestions on how to begin researching various laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local level.
  • Citing Sources in APA will help you to cite all of the sources you use in your assignments correctly. General paper formatting assistance, in-text citation examples, and reference list examples for many types of sources (especially tricky business resources!) are included.
