The only thing you need to bring with you are copies of your completed printed design. Don't cut the circles out - we have special circle punch cutters here that make it easy!
Instructions and design tips:
- Download the template you want to use (1.5” or 2.25”) using the links above.
- It is important that you save the Word document to your computer, then open the saved file.
- When your document opens, you will need to enable editing. The inner circles should be centered within the large circles. If your document does not look like the one below, there is something wrong.
- Print your design on regular printer paper. Do not use photo paper, cardstock, or any type of thick paper.
- Have your graphics ready:
- Size your images. Suggested sizes are 1.6 inches x 1.6 inches (for 1.5 inch buttons) or 2.4 inches x 2.4 inches (for 2.25 inch buttons). You may need to experiment with sizing your images to get just the right appearance.
- Text and important parts of your image should be kept in the center of your design. Leave a little bit of space around the edges especially if you include text. Background colors can fill the entire space/stretch to the edges.
- To insert the image into the template:
- click on a circle(s)
- go to DRAWING TOOLS in the top menu
- select SHAPE FILL
- select INSERT PICTURE and choose the picture you would like to insert.
Tip: to select multiple circles, hold down the CRTL key while you click to make your selections. You can then insert your image into all the selected circles at once.
-
Print your designs and bring them to your button making appointment. You do not need to cut them ahead of time - we have a special circle punch cutter you can use.
