About the Button Makers

The Bentley Library owns two button makers and punch cutters for making 1.5 inch or 2.25 inch buttons.

Who can use the button makers?

  • Bentley University Departments and Student Organizations may request to use the button maker.

How do I make a reservation to use the button maker? 

What supplies will I need to provide? Is there a cost?

  • The Bentley Library will provide enough supplies to make up to 50 buttons per group per semester. If you want to make more than 50 buttons, a per button cost will be charged. The cost will be determined by the size and number of buttons requested, but averages about 10 cents per button.
  • The only thing you need to bring with you are your completed printed designs. Use the blank templates we provide to design your buttons. Don't cut the circles out - we have special circle punch cutters here that make it easy! 

Where do I make the buttons?

  • The button maker must be used within the library. A library staff member will provide instructions and demonstrate how to use the equipment. For efficiency (and fun!), we recommend that you have at least two members of your group come to make the buttons.

Use of the Bentley Library's button makers is governed by the Bentley Student Code of Conduct and the Code of Ethics for Faculty/Staff. If you are using images that you did not create it is important to make sure that you are not violating copyright.
