Gender Studies Research: Using Databases

This guide provides a starting point for researching gender studies using Library resources.

General Databases

These databases contain articles on gender issues, women's studies and men's studies as well as articles in other disciplines related to these topics.

Social Sciences

Google Scholar

Google Scholar is different than the standard Google search. It contains papers from scholarly journals, researchers' working papers, conference proceedings, and other academic content. You can use it by clicking the Google Scholar tab above the search box on the Library's home page.

  • Search Tip: Some papers can be accessed directly from our databases via a "Full-text @Bentley" link. If you are off-campus, login using the link provided below the Google Scholar search box.

Not all content in Google Scholar is peer-reviewed. You will need to evaluate whether the article meets the requirements of your research. If you have questions about whether an article is scholarly or not, feel free to visit the Reference Desk and ask a librarian.
