Crochet Stiches

To find any of the below video clips, just search the name of the stitch +Woobles. Most clips under 1 minute and all are right handed. Woobles is a great place to find videos for left handed, just add +"left handed" to search string.

Terminology can change based on geography. For example, in the UK, Double Crochet is called Trebble Crochet.

Use any size yarn with corresponding hook

Leaf Pattern.

  • Slip knot,
  • Chain 7 to make your Foundation Chain. Turn chain.
  • Single Crochet in first chain from hook, 
  • Half Double in next chain
  • 2 Double Crochets in next same chain
  • 1 Triple Crochet
  • 1 Double Crochet
  • 1 Half Double Crochet
  • 1 Single Crochet in final chain, Then chain 2,
  • Turn work and 1 Single Crochet in same chain from other side to start back row.
  • 1 Half Double Crochet
  • 1 Double Crochet
  • 1 Triple Crochet
  • 2 Double Crochets in same chain
  • 1 Half Double Crochet
  • 1 Single Crochet
  • Slip stitch into starting single crochet then chain one, snip yarn and tie off, leaving enough yarn for attaching to project.
  • Weave in beginning tail if desired.

Vine pattern,

  • Chain any length. (15 in video),
  • Then 2 Single Crochets in each chain until back at beginning.
  • Leave ends for sewing into projects.

Use any size yarn with corresponding hook.

  • Slip knot
  • Ch 30
  • Skip stitch and pop slip stitch in one from hook.
  • In next chain put 4 single crochet stitches
  • 4 single crochet stitches in to next chain
  • 4 single crochet stitches in each chain until the very last chain
  • Slip Stitch into last chain, then work 10 dc stitches into same chain
  • Then slip stitch into the same chain as the dc row.
  • chain one, snip yarn and pull yarn through, to end work.
  • Use Yarn Needle to weave in two ends.

Use Self Adhesive googly eyes , sew on buttons, or French knots for eyes.
