This resource focuses primarily on one of the two CMOS documentation styles: the Notes-Bibliography System (NB), which is used by those working in literature, history, and the arts. The other documentation style, the Author-Date System, is nearly identical in content but slightly different in form and is preferred by those working in the social sciences.

Citation Tools

Our Library Search and many of the library's article databases such as ProQuest and EBSCO will generate a citation or a list of citations during your search session. Just look for the "cite this" or "cite this article" options when viewing a single citation or a list of marked citations.

EndNote is a software tool for keeping track of references and creating bibliographies in the citation style of your choice (eg. Chicago).
