Bentley Library Orientation: Getting to Know the Bentley Library

Get to know the Bentley Library through this general introduction to our resources & services.

Group Study Rooms

There are 24 group study rooms located in the library, 19 of which are “high-tech” rooms equipped with a PC and large LCD monitor. All rooms contain network ports and whiteboards; supplies such as dry erase markers and conference call telephones may be borrowed at the Library Services Desk. Wireless network access is available in all rooms.

Study Room Policies
  • Study rooms may be reserved up to 2 weeks in advance.
  • There is a 2 hour per reservation and 2 hour per day limit per student. Reservations exceeding either of these limits will be modified by library staff to comply.
  • All group members (not just one member of the group) must arrive within 15 minutes of the start of their reservation. If the group is not present within the first 15 minutes another group may use the room.
  • Individuals may only use unbooked rooms for studying. An individual student may use an unreserved group study room but may not reserve a room for individual use.

Students who do not adhere to the group study room policies will be subject to having their reservation privileges revoked.

How to Make, Edit or Cancel a Reservation
How To Make an Impromptu Reservation

Impromptu reservations can be made at the touch screens outside each room.

  1. First, identify a vacant group study room (hint: check the large LCD screen in the lobby of the library or look for the tell-tale green glow on the touch screens located outside the rooms).
  2. When you’ve found a room to use simply press the “Use Now” button on the touch panel located at the door.
  3. Lastly, select the length of time you want to use the room (no more than 2 hours).
